«Ja sam komunista» – «I am a communist.» With these words, Dragutin Mrkić,
begins his autobiographical narration. Andreas Pfister und Lara Stanic recorded his moving story, reflecting the historical events of the 20th century. Mrkić`s biography spans from 1927, when he was born in then Kingdom of Yugoslavia, through WWII, where he fought against the Nazis as a partisan; his compulsory retirement under the Communists, and up to the triumph of capitalism in the post- communist era.
